Islam and Zoroastrianism
Islam (الإسلام)
Islam in the Arabic language means “Peace acquired by submitting your will to Al-mighty God” and someone who follows Islam is called as a Muslim which means “A person who submits his will to Al-mighty God”. There’s a misconception that Islam is a new religion that came into existence 1400 years ago and that Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is the founder of this religion, but the reality is that Islam has been there since time in memorial. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is not the founder of the religion of Islam, but he is the last and final messenger of God. To him God revealed the Quran which is the final message of God. And God Al-mighty says in the Quran: “And indeed We have already sent Messengers even before you (Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)), and We made for them spouses and offspring; and in no way was it for a Messenger to come up with a sign except by the permission of Allah. Every term has a Book.” (Surah Ar-Rad Chapter 13 Verse 38)
Here Al-mighty God is saying that there were other Prophets before Muhammad (ﷺ) and has send done revelations every period of age. The Four that are mentioned in the Quran is the Zabur (given to David), Tawrat (Torah) (given to Moses), Injeel (Gospels) (given to Jesus), and the Quran (given to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)). These scriptures that came before the Quran got corrupted and changed. The Quran is the only book that has remained pure for 1400 years. In Islam we worship no one, but Allah (God). This word Allah is used even by the Arab Christians and Arab Jews; it is not some new God. Allah is the same God that Moses, Abraham, Jesus, etc… worshiped. Islam is a pure monotheistic religion, other people claim to follow pure monotheism, but have associated worship with other creations of God. But in Islam we don’t associate anyone in worship; the only one worthy of worship is Allah.
Zoroastrianism
Zarathustra (known commonly as Zoroaster) was the founder of Zoroastrianism (also known as Parsism, Mazdaism and Magianism) which originated in Persia about 2,500 years ago. Its followers are well known to be Fire worshippers. He is considered by Zoroastrians as the first prophet of the Persia. The sacred Parsi scriptures of Zoroastrianism are the Dasatir and the Avesta (also known as Zend Avesta). The Dasatir are divided up into Khurda Dasatir and Karan Dasatir. The Avesta is also divided into Khurda Avesta and Karan Avesta. Zoroastrians claim to follow monotheism and called there God “Ahura Mazda” which means “Wise Lord”. The scripture of Zoroastrianism were written in an ancient language called “Avesta” which is an old extinct Persian language that might be as old as Sanskrit.
“I will speak forth: hear now and hearken now, ye from near and ye from far that desire (instruction). Now observe this in your mind, all of you, for he is revealed. Never shall the false Teacher destroy the Second Life, the Liar, in perversion by his tongue into evil belief.”
Zoroaster says to Ahura Mazda “Grant us (a share) of it both this (material) existence and the spiritual one, that (share) of it through which we may come (and be in) your shelter and that of Truth, for all time.” (Gasta 41.6)
